George Dubinsky Furniture/Design
I am a designer and a craftsman who loves to explore new and innovative ideas through the making of objects. My childhood was filled with creative opportunities, opportunities to pick up a hammer and nails and start to build my imagination. Tools and materials became a way for me to freely express my thoughts and visions, as well as turn my dreams into physical realities.

I prefer to think of what I do as a lifestyle rather than a job. It just so happens that the lifestyle I chose has the potential to produce marketable objects that can go back into supporting my lifestyle. I always have multiple projects in motion at once; multiple projects help to keep up the momentum. My tools, materials, and process are all critical components in the chasing of ideas, and the making of objects. I am interested in forming harmonious relationships between the tools and materials that manifest themselves in efficient, well-considered designs that don’t fright the making process. I like to think of the studio as a laboratory where experimental and innovative works are encouraged.

My current work has been an exploration of my life experiences, influences, and interests. These are the things that have made my works and me uniquely different, giving me my own identity as a maker. I am currently interested in understanding my love of music and musical instruments and how that has led me to pursue my education in furniture design. I am fascinated with the long history of craftsmen who have explored innovation through thinking with there hands. Through forming connections between the traits that make me who I am, I can hone in on my unique voice as a designer, and a craftsmen.
