My work deals with inspirations and observations of the constructed world. I am interested in the vast vocabulary of form, structure, processes, cultural significance and the ideologies that define our physical surroundings.
By better understanding the history of built objects, whether that is a fine violin or an example of contemporary architecture, the methodologies and ideologies of yesterday start to outline an innovative, responsible direction for the future.
My studio practices range from traditional craft techniques to industrial and experimental manufacturing processes. My work employs function as well as challenges the idea of function. They serve as models to stimulate a dialogue of how we value the physical world.
I am a craftsman, designer and innovator, passionate about the potential of materials, both traditional and non-traditional. Through observation, research, and critical thinking I can build work that expresses how I view my physical surroundings.
